Northwest Passage – Riverside (adolescent males ages 12-17)

From its genesis in 1978, Northwest Passage programming has focused on blending traditional mental health treatment with arts and nature-based therapy. Though the problems facing children and teens have evolved since 1978, the fundamental needs for self-respect, trust, relationships, and steady guidance remain the same. And while Northwest Passage has grown in size and sophistication, we’ve never lost sight of the foundations all children need to be successful. Above anything else, Northwest Passage’s goal is to restore hope in our clients. By investing in the lives of marginalized youth, we are influencing and changing how mental health is ultimately treated and viewed. The transformations we see are no less than extraordinary.

New Haven Residential Treatment Center

We are a residential treatment center and boarding school for teenage girls. We empower your daughter with the same skills we would want our own daughters to have to heal from life's traumas. We provide her with residential treatment and advanced academics in a comfortable, home-like environment. Our expert therapists facilitate healing through an emphatic focus on the family, allowing your daughter and family to find peace with the past and move forward as healthy, connected individuals.

Moonridge Academy

Moonridge Academy, a small Residential Treatment Center of 24 students, provides a specialized unique learning and healing environment for younger teens ages 11-15. Students who come to Moonridge Academy are often beginning to experiment with high risk behaviors. These behaviors might include school refusal, self-harm, eating disorders, withdrawing from others, angry outbursts, poor peer and family relationships, and low-level substance abuse. In other instances, a student may not yet have begun these activities, but because of depression, anxiety, trauma, or low self-esteem is at a high risk to do so. Moonridge Academy uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including play therapy, sand tray therapy, EMDR, Equine Therapy and DBT skills to meet the clinical needs of our younger students.
